I am Assistant Professor (Universitair Docent) in Security and Privacy at the Department of Computer Science of the Open University of the Netherlands and a visiting researcher at the Digital Security group of the Radboud University Nijmegen.
My current research is centered on the question:
How to bring the security and privacy assurances of the real world to their digital life equivalents?
Concretely, I'm interested in and have worked on the following areas:
From 2009 until 2014, I was a PostDoc at the University of Luxembourg, within the Security and Trust of Software Systems (SaToSS) research group. In the summer of 2011, I visited the CASED security research lab in Darmstadt, Germany. I worked there with Prof. Melanie Volkamer's group on e-voting verifiability. In the summer of 2009, I worked as a research fellow at the Department of Computing at the University of Surrey, together with Prof. Steve Schneider and James Heather on the Trustworthy Voting Systems project.
My PhD in privacy of evoting systems and fairness of digital exchange was supervised by Prof. Jos Baeten (then of Eindhoven University of Technology) and Prof. Sjouke Mauw of the University of Luxembourg. I hold PhD diplomas from both institutions.
