About Me

Hi! I'm Ebrahim Rahimi. I work as an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Management Science & Technology in the Open University of the Netherlands. Besides research, I participate in teaching software engineering courses for undergraduate and master students.

Before joining the OU, I have been working from 2016 to 2018 as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (iCiS) of Radboud University. In this position, I researched topics related to computer science education, including computational thinking, algorithmic thinking, design-based learning, Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), and formative assessment in the context of secondary school.

I did my Ph.D at the Delft University of Technology. In my Ph.D study, I developed a design framework for creating Personal Learning Environments (PLEs). PLEs represents a new concept in the e-learning and Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) domains aiming at empowering learners to get more control over their learning process.
